Presentation by Isabellenhütte “High precision current, voltage, and insulation measurement with CAN bus interface for battery management systems”

31 May 2024

Last week, Nijkerk Electronics participated in the Power Electronics & Battery Storage event. It was a successful event with many good and valuable contacts. The highlight of the event was the presentation by Felix Lebeau from our partner Isabellenhütte on “High precision current, voltage, and insulation measurement with CAN bus interface for battery management systems“.

Accurate measurement of current and voltage is getting more and more important and even has become a determining factor in battery power management. The IVT-S is a high precision current measurement system, designed for DC applications and is based on a modular design. The continuous current measurement has a range up to ±2500 A. The shunt-based measurement method uses a 16-bit analog-digital-converter to transform the voltage drop into a digital signal. The communication is based on a CAN bus 2.0a interface with no less than 8 output signals (current, 3 x voltage, temperature, power, current counter and energy counter) IVT3.0 has all above combined with insulation monitoring included.

If you missed the presentation, or if you would like to review the presentation slides, you can now find them here.

In case you have any questions following your visit to the presentation or after reviewing the presentation slides, please do not hesitate to contact Nijkerk Electronics.
