Sensata’s new HEC contactor is designed to seamlessly switch between 400V and 800V battery configurations, ensuring full compatibility with both 400V and 800V DC fast chargers, while supporting drive operation at either voltage.
At the core of the HEC is a set of mechanically synchronized contacts that deliver a safe, reliable, and highly efficient switching mechanism. With up to five distinct configuration states—including independent access to each 400V battery for advanced features such as battery balancing or limp-home mode—the HEC offers a unique combination of safety, ruggedness, simplified integration, and reduced system costs compared to conventional solutions.
