Delft Hyperloop Wins Multiple Awards at European Hyperloop Week

12 novembre 2025

Delft Hyperloop has achieved major success at this year’s European Hyperloop Week (EHW), winning the Overall Award, the Levitation Award, the Technical Full-Scale Award, and the Social Media Award. The team also became the first student team worldwide to successfully demonstrate its technology at the European Hyperloop Conference (EHC).

About Delft Hyperloop

Delft Hyperloop is developing a climate-neutral, scalable hyperloop system. A hyperloop is a new form of transportation in which a pod floats through a vacuum tube and is propelled by magnets. This eliminates rolling and air resistance, allowing it to achieve speeds of up to 1000 km/h, making it a fast and energy-efficient mode of travel. Delft Hyperloop was founded in 2016 by a group of students from the Delft University of Technology and is still run by students as a non-profit organization. They are participating in a competition with student teams from all over the world, thus promoting the development of a hyperloop network through new technologies and knowledge.

Nijkerk Electronics proud partner

As a long-term partner, Nijkerk Electronics played an important role in the team’s achievements. The Powertrain Department relied on Nijkerk-supplied components, including Sensata contactors (main, pre-charge, and discharge) and an Isabellenhütte CAN-based current and voltage sensor, to ensure safe and reliable operation of the pod’s high-voltage system.

These components helped the team meet strict electrical safety standards, accurately monitor and control high-voltage systems, and continue development work safely even under power.

“Your support, expertise, and products allowed us to build a strong backbone for the entire team,” the Delft Hyperloop Powertrain Department stated in their message to Nijkerk Electronics.

Engineering Excellence

The 43-student team spent the past year designing, testing, and refining their hyperloop pod. Their hard work paid off with outstanding competition results and worldwide recognition. While this year’s team concludes its successful journey, a new Delft Hyperloop team is already preparing for next year’s challenge.

Nijkerk Electronics is proud to support these future engineers with advanced electronic components, helping drive innovation toward sustainable, high-speed transportation.
